Our story

Our story began in a 10 × 10 space.

Before there were two outlets, there was one small kitchen and a founder who believed something special could begin there.

Ondu Motteya Kathe started in a modest 10 × 10 outlet, with a simple ingredient at the centre of a much bigger idea: the egg.

We saw possibilities beyond the usual omelette. Familiar ingredients could become something exciting. A quick meal could become a reason to return. A small neighbourhood outlet could become a place people proudly recommended.

Our story travelled through word of mouth — one customer bringing a friend, one family recommending us to another, one favourite dish becoming someone else's first order. People came for the food. Their love helped us grow.

Today, OMK has grown into two Bengaluru outlets, in RR Nagar and JP Nagar, with more branches in our plans. Every new chapter carries the spirit of that first little space: hands-on care, bold flavour and the determination to make every plate count.

We began with 10 × 10 feet. Our customers helped make room for a bigger dream.

Meet Shruthi Venkatesh

The founder behind the flavour.

OMK began with Shruthi's belief that an everyday ingredient could carry an extraordinary range of possibilities.

Starting from a 10 × 10 outlet, she has been closely involved in shaping the brand — from developing recipes and homemade-style sauces to naming dishes, imagining the space and listening to customers.

Her approach is personal. The flavour should feel right. The place should feel welcoming. The brand should reflect the values she lives by: pride in her roots, care for animals and respect for the people helping build it.

Growing OMK has meant learning through the daily realities of running a food business while continuing to create, improve and move forward. Today, her ambition reaches beyond opening more outlets. She wants OMK to create meaningful employment, give people opportunities to learn and carry a Karnataka-born food brand to a wider world.

“I started with a small space and a belief in what we could create. My dream is to build a brand people love, create opportunities for others, and take a piece of Karnataka to the world.”— Shruthi Venkatesh, Founder

Our recipes

Curated by OMK. Created with intention.

Behind every dish is a journey of tasting, adjusting and asking one question: “Would someone come back for this?”

Our founder is personally involved in developing OMK's recipes — from the homemade-style sauces and pastes that build their flavour to the combinations on the plate and the names on the menu. What begins as an idea becomes a recipe through repeated trials, small changes and close attention to how people enjoy it.

That involvement gives our menu its identity. Whether you choose something comforting, fiery, tangy or cheesy, the intention is the same: a dish with character, flavour and a reason to order it again.

From the first spoon of sauce to the final name, there's a little of our story in every dish.

Our roots

Kannada is part of who we are.

OMK was born in Karnataka, and that belonging lives in the way we speak, welcome people and build our brand. You'll find it in our name, the words on our walls, our conversations and our pride in creating something of our own.

For us, celebrating Kannada is an everyday expression of love for the place that gave us our beginning. And that warmth extends to everyone who walks through our doors.

Wherever OMK grows, we want our roots to remain visible.

Packaging

A little less plastic. A little more responsibility.

The choices around a meal matter too. At OMK, reducing plastic is part of how we want to grow. We choose alternatives to plastic food containers and work towards more responsible packaging wherever practical.

As we expand, we want to keep improving how we package, serve and manage waste — because building a homegrown brand also means caring for the places we call home.

OMK Companions

Some of our warmest welcomes come on four paws.

Animals have a special place in the OMK story. Our love for dogs comes from a life shared with them — from family companions to the community dogs we care for. That connection shapes the kindness we want people to feel around our brand.

Meet Gunda and the companions who bring their own personality, warmth and joy to our journey.

Our dog-friendly spaces welcome you and your four-legged family members, with care and consideration for everyone sharing the café.

Because belonging has room for paws, too.
